Q1. what is your photography style?

I specialize in newborn and lifestyle photography. I prefer to use natural light when possible and aim to capture raw emotion and natural moments for your family.

Q2. where are sessions held?

I use several outdoor locations throughout the north Chicago suburbs. Locations include Wagner Farms, Harms Woods, Gallery Park, The Grove and several beaches along the northshore. Outdoor sessions are held in the early morning and late afternoon to avoid mid day harsh sun.

Indoor sessions are held in your home and can lend to a beautiful and comfortable backdrop. Come this winter I will be opening up my home for studio sessions where we are currently renovating space for professional lighting and backdrops. Studio sessions will mainly be for childhood and newborn sessions.

Q3. what should I wear?

Outfit choices are entirely up to you however, I am here to help. I generally tell people to avoid extremely bright colors and neons as they can cast color against your skin. Also steer clear of things with text, logos and slogans as they can be distracting and age an image.

Neutrals with a pop of color is always a great option! A little goes a long way way! Wear what you are comfortable in and is a reflection of who you are. There are plenty of great suggestions on pinterest as well.

Q4. What can I expect the day of my session?

On the day of your session we will touch base prior to meeting either via phone or text. I generally arrive early to set up my camera and scope the scene. Once you arrive I will give you a quick rundown of shots I'd love to capture and then the fun begins!

Q5. How much do your sessions cost?

Session fees vary and are subject to change at any time. My current pricing can be found under the investment tab at the top of the site. Each session is outlined in detail. You will also have the option to purchase fine art prints and canvases directly from your gallery however, it is not required.

Current pricing will be honored for thirty days for sessions that are booked with the retainer fee.

Q6. Why do you require a retainer fee?

Retainer fees hold your session reservation. As a commissioned photography I rely on pre-scheduled appointments to be able to keep this lovely business afloat!

Q7. What happens if there is bad weather?

In the event that we are rained/snowed out we reschedule your session within two weeks time of your scheduled session.

Q8. Do you give away unedited images if requested?

The simple answer is NO. There are several reasons why but mainly because I value my work as artist. Secondly the original files are shot in a raw format that can not be used or opened without professional software which would make them virtually useless you know how to use them.

Q9. How do newborn sessions work?

Newborn sessions are booked in advance. Once you have secured your spot you let me know when you go into labor or shortly there after and I schedule you in within 7 days of being home. Newborn sessions are held Monday - Wednesday.
